This tour combines the natural world of the University of Latvia Botanical Garden with the historical and cultural life of Kalnciema Quarter, offering a deeper look at the city through people, plants, and architecture.
During the tour you will:
• in the Botanical Garden, explore the diverse plant collections and hidden corners not usually open to the public;
• in Kalnciema Quarter, discover 19th-century wooden architecture and its transformation into a modern hub of culture, design, and community life;
• experience the atmosphere of Āgenskalns – Riga’s left-bank neighbourhood with its cafés, courtyards, and relaxed rhythm.
The tour can be extended to include other key Pārdaugava landmarks, such as:
• National Library of Latvia (Castle of Light) – Gunārs Birkerts’ architectural masterpiece overlooking the Old Town;
