Kalnciema Quarter invites you to a sensory experience — a game of scents where fragrance becomes a guide through the atmosphere of a place and creates lasting memories.
It’s an opportunity to discover Latvia through its characteristic aromas and to experience Kalnciema Quarter from a completely new perspective — through the sense of smell, emotions, and associations, letting scent become a bridge between people and their surroundings.
The experience is led by Marika Rozenberga, scent expert and author of the blog sekodegunam.lv, who will reveal how aromas can serve as tools for perception and awareness.
During the session you will:
-learn about the importance of the sense of smell — past and present;
-discover how scents create memory links connected to specific places;
-explore natural aromas — from wood and smoke to honey, spices, and pine needles;
– take part in an interactive scent game, designed to help you uncover something new;
-get acquainted with Latvian natural perfume brands and products.
This experience combines the philosophy of slow travel with mindful attention to the sense of smell and the impact of fragrance — enriching the traveller not only with external impressions but also with inner reflection.
