Tirguscelvedis.lv
Tirguscelvedis.lv is Latvia’s only digital market guide. The guide was created in direct response to the growing need for unified, reliable, and easily accessible information about local food offerings. The market guide currently lists more than 100 Latvian markets and fairs, representing both major city markets and regional and seasonal initiatives – permanent city markets, thematic and seasonal markets, flea markets and antique markets, as well as local community markets. At the same time, it is a platform that will bring together a variety of local food initiatives and announcements – from direct purchasing to the latest food delivery options in Latvia, as well as promoting markets as slow tourism destinations. Tirgusceļvedis.lv also publishes thematic blog articles with stories and news.
Both market organizers and small producers are invited to participate in maintaining the platform and sharing information. This is a long-term initiative with opportunities for participation – the guide will be constantly updated with new markets, ideas and opportunities throughout Latvia and later also across the Baltic States.
Tirgusceļvedis.lv was created on the centenary of the Āgenskalns market building, designed by the renowned Riga architect Reinhold Šmēling. In the market’s anniversary year, the conference and national market guide are being implemented by the Kalnciema Quarter and Āgenskalns Market team – SIA Kalnciema iela, a social enterprise with more than 15 years of experience in market development and local community involvement. Since 2008, the company has been organizing the weekly Kalnciema Quarter Market, and since 2018, it has been managing the Āgenskalns Market, which has become an important multifunctional food and cultural center in Latvia.
Tirgusceļvedis.lv platform was created with the support of ESF+ – project “Support for Social Entrepreneurship” (No. 4.3.3.3/1/24/I/001).
