Founded in 1922, the Botanical Garden covers 15 hectares in Pārdaugava and is home to around 6,000 different plant species. It is a quiet, spacious area to enjoy nature and explore plants from all over the world right in the middle of the city.
Seasonal Blooms: The garden constantly changes, featuring azaleas from February to April, magnolias in spring, rhododendrons in early summer, roses in mid-summer, and dahlias in autumn.
Greenhouses: Visitors can explore the Plant House, Azalea House, and Tropical House, which feature everything from cacti to subtropical plants. Unique Collections: The outdoor area includes rare trees (like ginkgo, cedar, and edible chestnut), medicinal plants, swamp flora, and a dedicated collection of Latvia’s poisonous plants.
